Easter Dinner April 7, 2008

Posted by Rebecca in Valpo Ricks.

We hosted a very large gathering at our house for Easter dinner. Marcus sent out an email to several people at Law School—the response was much bigger than we expected! We ended up having 24 people (including us) at our house for dinner. We provided the meat and everyone else brought the side dishes. Thankfully our friends the Chandlers helped us round up tables and chairs and then set them up. Michelle also helped with the table decorations. It was a very wonderful affair. Everyone who came seemed sincerely grateful. We gave all our guests a small copy of the The Living Christ, the testimony of the Apostles published several years ago. So, whether or not anyone becomes interested in the Church, at least they will know how we feel about the Savior. We are very grateful for the miracles of the Atonement and the Resurrection at this wonderful time of year!

Leave it to Marcus to host a big party despite his crazy law school schedule. 🙂 That’s great that you were able to share your testimony. I bet people are more receptive after Marcus’ delicious cooking. A man stopped by our house the other day selling steaks for an amazing price- but I didn’t really have the room in our freezer or the skills to cook them well. I thought, if only Marcus were here I would have purchased the whole case.

I completely understand about the steaks! Maybe we can have steaks one night while we’re all in Utah to make up for it.

I am impressed. That is a lot of people to have over on Easter Sunday. We had a small dinner since Ron and Mary were out of town. Meagan made dinner for Ryan and me and Kaleb and Sariah (of course the babies were there, but they didn’t eat).
