Haunted Canyon November 1, 2008

During Halloween, the Heber Creeper train gets turned into the “Haunted Canyon” ride. It departs from Vivian Park, and on the way out you hear narration of spooky things that have happened in the canyon over the years—a Hansel-and-Gretel-style witch, a couple killed on their wedding day, etc. Outside the train, you see actors portraying these bizarre and unlucky folks. Then, as you come back, the train makes “unexpected” stops that allow these characters to get on (as well as other random monsters) and scare people in the cars. The formula makes for good fun. I liked it much more than the typical haunted house/forest. Getting to be on the authentic old train was one of the best parts.

Thanks to everyone who came!
