Quick California Trip

Dad and I made a quick trip to southern California for the wedding of Susan Ricks’s daughter Toreva. We even took two days to drive there. We stayed in Mesquite on the first night. The second night we planned to stay at the LDS Temple apartments at the Los Angeles Temple (on the understanding that one does some temple work). The temple was very peaceful and quiet as we drove up—no evidence of the protestors or graffiti that followed the passage of Proposition 8 in California. We made it to the 3:30 session. As we entered the celestial room, we were informed that the the temple was in lockdown (since 3:30)—they had received a threat. That meant we couldn’t leave that floor. We had agreed to do a sealing session rather than just waiting; however, just as they were ready to begin, they canceled the lockdown, so we were able to leave. 

The next day we drove down to Fallbrook (north of San Diego) for the wedding at the Grand Tradition Estates.
